Back to School Bash
As students prepare to go back to school at the end of summer, Centre First United Methodist Church realized that there were many children in our community in need. The needs ranged from school supplies and back packs to haircuts and new clothes.
In 2013, the church started the Back to School Bash. The Back to School Bash is a fun event of food, felllowship and service. Families in need are invited to the church for a meal, then escorted through the church by church members we call "Shepherds." Shepherds take families to various services offered including: Backpacks filled with School Supplies Bibles Back to School Haircuts Vision Testing provided by the Lions Club Vouchers for new clothes Dental Care items provided by Sarell Dental Center All of these items and services are offered free of charge. In 2013, 200 volunteers served almost 600 people in need! |
In 2014, we had our largest outreach event EVER with the Back 2 School Bash. The church served 941 people, gave away over 600 back packs, gave 100 haircuts, and so much more.
